Job Description:
- We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical individual to join our Collections team as a Jr. Data Scientist/Data Scientist.
- In this role, you will utilize advanced analytics and AI/ML techniques to drive improvements in our collections processes, minimize delinquencies, and maximize recovery rates.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field. (Masters degree preferred)
- 0-3 years of experience in analytics, preferably in a collections or financial services environment.
- Strong proficiency in statistical analysis and predictive modeling techniques.
- Experience with data manipulation and querying languages (e.g., SQL) and statistical software (e.g., Python, R). Knowledge of AI/ML development and deployment
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to analyze and work on unstructured/text data will be an added advantage.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.
Responsibility:
- Analyze historical collections data to identify trends, patterns, and potential risks.
- Develop, implement and track predictive models and segmentation strategies to optimize collections efforts.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as delinquency rates, recovery rates, and customer satisfaction metrics.
- Conduct root cause analysis on collections issues and work on actionable recommendations.
- Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in collections analytics.
- Thorough understanding of internal systems, tools and processes to propose relevant solutions
- Evaluate third-party data for applications in collections strategies
- Additional Responsibilities:Collaborate and work with cross-functional teams including Product and IT teams to integrate analytics solutions into collections workflows.
- Prepare and present regular reports and insights to senior management and stakeholders.
- Mentor and upskill junior resources in the team
