Job Description:
- Data Modeling and Warehousing: Develop and maintain data models using Dimension modeling, Kimball, Inmon, or Data Vault methodologies to ensure efficient storage and retrieval of data.
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into effective data models.
- Semantic Layer and Self-Service Technologies: Build and maintain semantic layers and self-service technologies, particularly utilizing Looker, to empower non-technical end-users to access and analyze data independently.
- Design intuitive and user-friendly dashboards and reports to facilitate data-driven decision-making across the organization.
- SQL and Python Expertise: Utilize advanced SQL skills to extract, manipulate, and analyze large datasets from various sources to derive actionable insights.
- Leverage Python programming for data cleaning, transformation, and automation tasks, enhancing efficiency and scalability in data processes.
- Data Stack Tools Proficiency: Demonstrate proficiency in data stack tools such as dbt, Snowflake, Airflow, Fivetran, Jupyter, Hex , etc., to streamline data pipeline orchestration, data modeling, and analysis.
- Implement best practices for data governance, data quality assurance, and data lineage tracking across the data stack.
- Communication and Collaboration: Effectively communicate complex technical concepts and insights to non-technical stakeholders, fostering a data-driven culture across the organization.
- Collaborate with data engineers, business analysts, and other team members to ensure alignment and synergy in data-related initiatives and projects.
Requirements:
- Knowledge and familiarity with data modeling/data warehousing concepts (e.g., Dimension modeling, Kimball or Inmon, or Data Vault)
- Experienced with building and maintaining semantic layers and self-service technologies (Looker) for non-technical end-users
- Expert with SQL and strong experience with Python
- Experience with data stack tools: dbt, Snowflake, Looker, Airflow, Fivtran, Jupyter, Hex, etc
